This guide explains how to download, install, and activate Microsoft Office 2019 Home & Business on Windows PC or Mac.

Before You Begin
Before starting, make sure you have:
✅ Your Microsoft Office 2019 Home & Business product key
✅ A Microsoft account (required for redemption)
✅ A stable internet connection
✅ Administrator access to your computer
Important
Office 2019 Home & Business is permanently linked to the Microsoft account used during redemption.
Be sure to redeem the product using the Microsoft account you intend to keep.
Step 1 – Redeem Your Product Key
Open Microsoft's official Office redemption website:
Sign in with your Microsoft account.
If you don't have one, select Create one!
Enter your 25-character product key, then select Next.
Example:
XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
Select your:
Country or Region
Preferred Language
Then select Next.
Microsoft will add Office 2019 Home & Business permanently to your Microsoft account.
When redemption is complete, select Continue.
Step 2 – Download Microsoft Office
After redemption, you'll be redirected to your Microsoft Services & Subscriptions page.
If not, open:
Locate:
Office Home & Business 2019
Select Install.
The installer will begin downloading.
Step 3 – Install Office
Windows
Open your Downloads folder.
Double-click the downloaded Office installer.
If Windows displays:
Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?
Select Yes.
Office will begin downloading and installing automatically.
Wait until you see:
You're all set! Office is installed now.
Select Close.
Mac
Open the downloaded Microsoft Office installer (.pkg).
If prompted, select Continue.
Accept the Microsoft Software License Agreement.
Choose the installation location.
Select Install.
Enter your Mac administrator password if prompted.
Office will begin installing.
When installation finishes, select Close.
Step 4 – Activate Office
Open any Office application, such as:
Word
Excel
PowerPoint
Outlook
Accept the license agreement if prompted.
Sign in using the same Microsoft account used during redemption.
Office will activate automatically.
Step 5 – Verify Activation
Open Word.
Go to:
File → Account
You should see:
Product Activated
and
Microsoft Office Home & Business 2019
Your installation is now complete.
Troubleshooting
Office asks for a product key again
Make sure you're signed in with the same Microsoft account used when redeeming the product key.
I can't find Office in my Microsoft account
Visit:
If Office is not listed, the product key may have been redeemed using a different Microsoft account.
Installation won't start
Try the following:
Restart your computer.
Disable antivirus software temporarily.
Use a different web browser.
Download the installer again from your Microsoft account.
Activation failed
Verify that:
You're connected to the internet.
You're signed in with the correct Microsoft account.
The installation has completed successfully.

Can I move Office 2019 Home & Business to another computer?
Yes. Retail licenses can generally be transferred to another compatible computer, provided the software is removed from the previous device and Microsoft's license terms are followed.
