Error message: We're sorry, we couldn't install Office.Error Code: 0-2035 (0)

Overview

If you receive Office Error Code: 0-2035 (0) while installing Microsoft Office, it usually means that another Office installation, update, or uninstall process is still running, or that a previous Office installation didn't complete successfully, preventing the new installation from starting.

This can happen if:

  • Another Office installation or update is still running.

  • A previous Office installation failed or was interrupted.

  • An older version of Office or Microsoft 365 is still installed.

  • Click-to-Run installation files are corrupted.

  • Antivirus or security software is blocking the installer.
